Today, the Partnership issued the following statement on the House Action on the Dream and Promise Act:

“The Dream and Promise Act of 2021 will provide a pathway to citizenship for the millions of families and individuals who have had to live and work in the shadows of a broken immigration system,” said Kathryn Wylde, President and CEO of the Partnership for New York City. “Our immigrant and DREAMer communities are integral to New York City’s cultural and economic fabric, accounting for 47% of our city’s businesses owners and 38% of our population. The Partnership puts priority on immigration reforms that advance humanitarian and economic interests, including lifting the cap on H-1B visas, streamlining the green card process for STEM degree holders, and creating new immigration and citizenship pathways for skilled workers, entrepreneurs, and graduate students in response to labor market needs.”
