It is only a provisional step, however, when it comes to building and maintaining the modern infrastructure that this country needs to remain a global economic power. The financing and development of public transportation and other infrastructure should be a central theme of the presidential election and 2017 should be the year when America comes up with a serious commitment to funding our multi-trillion dollar backlog in infrastructure needs.”
