“Governor Cuomo’s announcement that New York has met the 70% milestone on vaccinations is news that will truly restart our local economy,” said Kathryn Wylde, President and CEO of the Partnership for New York City. “Rollback of most of the remaining COVID-19 restrictions is the green light that employers have been waiting for in order to bring employees back to the workplace. After 15 months of a highly disciplined response to COVID-19, New Yorkers are eager for the return of remote workers, visitors, and students, which will lead to the rebound of our small businesses, cultural institutions, and the vibrant street life that defines our city. We thank our health care and other essential workers who led the battle against COVID-19 and the teams at Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson, and Moderna who moved so quickly to produce the life-saving vaccines.”
