Partnership Applauds Passage of $1.9 Trillion American Rescue Plan

Today, the Partnership issued the following statement on the passage of the American Rescue Plan:

“The American Rescue Plan sets the stage for an accelerated recovery from the ravages of COVID-19,” said Kathryn Wylde, President and CEO of the Partnership for New York City. “New York, which was hit early and hard by the pandemic, anticipates receipt of as much as $100 billion from this federal package. This will enable the city and state to maintain essential services and provide emergency aid to New Yorkers who have been most damaged during the pandemic. President Biden, Senate Majority Leader Schumer, and House Speaker Pelosi are to be congratulated for pushing through this third major stimulus package. The business community is committed to ensuring that these federal funds will leverage additional private investment that will be required to restore more than 850,000 jobs and thousands of small businesses that the city and state have lost to the pandemic.”
