“The New York City business community supports the quick action by Governor Hochul and the Legislature to contain the proliferation of concealed guns that would likely result from the Supreme Court’s decision to invalidate New York’s longstanding restrictions on gun licenses,” said Kathryn Wylde, President and CEO of the Partnership for New York City. “The court’s decision runs counter to efforts to improve public safety, which tops the concerns of employers and workers in the city. This legislation makes it illegal to bring guns onto business premises unless a business owner authorizes guns, which will help to reassure workers and customers that everything possible is being done to protect them from becoming victims of gun violence.”
