Overview

Leading up to a potential strike by New Jersey Transit employees in March 2016, the Partnership for New York City released data showing the economic impact a NJ Transit rail strike would have on New York City employers. A strike was expected if railroad and rail union officials failed to reach a contract agreement.


$5.9M

Every hour commuters are delayed in getting to work due to NJ Transit rail being out of service will cost New York City employers $5.9 million.
